We hear this question a lot. We don’t recommend that you try to remove bats on your own for the following reasons:

• Bats are protected by federal (and often state) law. You are not allowed to kill or harass them.
• Bats can only be removed during a certain narrow window of time that varies from state to state.
• If you seal bat entry points, you may seal in bats which will then die, or you may seal out a mother who can’t reach her young which will then die.

“If I Don’t Remove the Bats, Who Will?”

If you have bats roosting in your attic or elsewhere in your house, contact a professional state-licensed Wildlife Control Operator trained in nuisance wildlife removal and exclusion. We remove bats from homes using a humane, low-impact excluder door. The excluder device is placed over the main opening where bats are entering the attic space. Secondary openings are sealed. This one-way device lets bats exit the attic, but doesn’t let them back in. Once our specialists have determined that all the bats are out of the space, we permanently seal the primary opening as well.
